Our love of ferrets began in 1985 with Calvin. He was a great ferret who loved eating holes in our underwear and going to the movies. Our love of him has resulted in our efforts to help those ferrets that, maybe, weren't so loved.
We have always had a soft spot for rescue animals. Too many people in this world view pets as disposable items. They are not disposable to us. They are family members. OK...quirky family members that sometimes poop where you don't want them to poop. Their flaws make them beautiful. Their oddities make them interesting. Rescues somehow know they were given a second chance at life and they love us all the more for it. You can see it in their faces when they step on your foot and look up at you adoringly. Give us a rescue any day of the week! Our adopted ferrets are: Andouille, Boris, Daisy, Jack-Jack, Gidget and Mars.
We also foster ferrets through The Greater Chicago Ferret Association. They are the only non-home based ferret-exclusive shelter in the U.S. The shelter relies solely on donations and compassionate dedicated volunteers to care for as many as 120 ferrets 365 days a year. The GCFA has loved more than 6,100 since 1987. We foster medically challenged and older ferrets and give them a loving home outside of the shelter environment for the duration of their lives. Our GCFA foster ferrets are: Balthazar, Beethoven, Bouncy, Bump, Cordelia, Hairy (Kiara), Lincoln, Phoenix, Spanky, Tumor (Caesar), Twister, Venus, Yang and Ying.

We promise all our unloved and unwanted foster ferrets a home to call their own. These are the wonderful creatures that we have had the honor to know. They have now moved on to another level in this universe. They will always be beautiful, they will always be healthy, and they will always be loved: Dolly, Tillie, Olga, Tigger, Zipper, Podo, Sandy, Nibbler Hawk and Sam.
